| Secara administratif, kawasan hutan Batang Toru yang terletak di Provinsi Sumatera Utara ini terbagi menjadi 3 kabupaten, yaitu Tapanuli Utara, Tapanuli Tengah dan Tapanuli Selatan.
Di dalam kawasan hutan Batang Toru terdapat lima wilayah daerah aliran sungai (DAS), yaitu Batang Toru, Bila, Aek Kolang, Barumun dan Batang Gadis. |
