Abstract:
Farmers’ need for fertiliser is always an imperative. In Sulawesi, Indonesia farmers are commonly dependent on chemical fertilisers, which are costly and, if overly used, can harden the soil.

As a solution, farmers can produce their own organic fertilisers. By following simple guidelines, farmers can convert readily available material, such as animal waste, vegetable scraps and leaves, into organic fertiliser.
